Last year, Mitchell and Janvrin's Brownies and their parents cooked up a simple spaghetti dinner for Salisbury's police officers and firefighters. The event was a memorial to those who ran to help during the Sept. 11 attack and the many who lost their lives trying to save others. Troop leaders and parents wanted to ensure their children never forget the heroism of the day nor the men and women who work in Salisbury to keep them safe every day.
The dinner was set out in the garage bays at the Salisbury Fire Department with firefighters and police officers — on shift and off — coming together to eat with the Brownies, listen to their songs and poems, and accept their appreciation. As the evening progressed, those who attended didn't just rave about the food. They were moved by the sentiment that came with the meal, and the Brownies, who were proudly clad in their own uniforms, made a big impression. morehow to make chocolate chip brownies
