Bulk Candy Orders Article
Bailout: all trick, no treat
It's in that witching hour that the teenagers show up, without costumes or even candy buckets, snacking as they go house to house leaving the trash in the hedgerow. There's no humility in the approach, they look you straight (or down) in the eye and shrug.
Your hand shakes a little as you extend it with a candy bar, hoping to appease them and fearing the consequences of failure. They'll look you over to see if you're certifiably nuts or just clueless. Don't you recognize all the effort they've put in just showing up at your door tonight? They'll look past you and into the house, as if what they really came for is inside.
As you watch them case your house, one in the group will bend down and pick up the remains of your Jack o' Lantern. That happy pumpkin you carved with your own kids has now melted over the course of the evening into a ghoulish gourd. more

moreVoting Question: Has anyone ordered custom M&Ms for their wedding?
My question has several parts really. Please help with all of them. I am getting married in October and am planning to have custom M&Ms as part of my favor.
1. How many would I need? They come in 5 lb. bags or 10 lb. boxes (and also smaller bags but I'm packing mine in tulle so I don't need their bags - I can buy them in bulk since I'm repackaging). I am having 100 people and I am also putting 5 Jordan almonds in each favor (they represent fertility, longevity, wealth, health and happiness) and I'm going to use the M&Ms as a filler. I would like to probably have 15-20 in each favor. I can't find on the site an estimate of how many pieces of candy are in a pound.
2. My colors are white, wine, and silver. They have a maroon color (close to my wine) but I do not see it on the page when you actually pick it out. They say they have 22 colors but then there are only 17 once you actually choose the sayings (and maroon isn't one of them).
3. Can you mix wording and colors in one bag/box?
Thanks, everyone, so far for your answers.
Yeah, I'm noticing this is going to cost me nearly $300 for candy. This is a bit crazy!
moreResolved Question: how can i order something online without my parents finding out?
i want to order something online, but my parents won't approve of it. i won't say what it is here, but it's nothing illegal or harmful at all. my parents have this policy of not letting me buy ANYTHING online that i can put into my mouth (this includes supplements, bulk orders of candy/snacks, etc).
i think it's ridiculous, since i'm 18. i have good judgement and will not take anything harmful to me. i don't even smoke, drink, or do any drugs, but they're always paranoid. they even freaked out when i first told them that i wanted to start taking a daily multi-vitamin.
how can i buy something online without them knowing what it is? they'll likely be the ones signing off the parcel, so they might see the invoice...

moreResolved Question: Stick Candy - How do I know?
So it's after Christmas and we bought so many extra boxes of Candy Canes from Walmart for .10c a box. One of the brands had a flavor that I love. Well since I ate through one box of them (only bought one of that flavor) I am aching for more. I am unable to find them as candy canes, but I figured I will get a box of old-fashioned candy sticks. They come usuallyin 80ct. My question is, if I order online from one of the candy companies that sell in bulk..how do I know that I am not getting candy sticks from 10 years ago? Is it safe? I don't normally buy food online, but I figured since I can't get to a cracker barrell anytime soon I might as well. So if I buy a carton of them, how do I really know when they were made? Silly I know, but curious.

moreResolved Question: Any suggestions for what to put in my favor boxes?
I have these really pretty favor boxes. Problem is, after I ordered them & put one together I realized, "Wow, these are fairly big."
So I'm open to suggestions other than candy like you normally see in favor boxes. Or if candy, any ideas about inexpensive candy to put in them? I had thrown around the idea of Jelly Belly Jelly Beans (I found a bulk site that offers them at a decent price), but I'm paranoid about how long they'd stay fresh.
It's going to take about 4ozs to put in the box to make them not look empty & I've got 65 boxes to fill. I'd like to avoid breaking the bank if possible. :)
I forgot to mention that I'm stuffing some tissue paper in the boxes. :)
