titleNew Property Website To Fight The Big Bad Giants/titlepIn just 6 weeks Live Simply have saved people over £1 million/ppWe all know Estate agents regularly rip of their customers but few know they frequently earn over £2000 on a rental property. They achieve this by exploiting the customer with bogus costs such as contract, admin and reference fees and gaining rental commission on top. Live simply offers the perfect alternative for only £1.84 and the agents do not like it./ppEstate agents have sent hate mail, abusive emails and even pretended to be the police telling Live Simply to remove our site from the internet. They have blocked Live Simply from advertising on internet portals and blocked them from joining ARLA which is the Assosciation. They are enjoying spending customers hard earned cash and they are reluctant to give it up./ppLive Simply was set up by Alex Hambi fwho had worked in the industry for the last few years in central London. Appalled at the state of the industry he was determined to set up an alternative to the traditional agent. Not wanting to just emulate the rip off agent he wanted to create a real alternative so he created Live Simply./ppInstead of making thousands Live Simply charge tenants £1.84 a week for full access to our entire website with full contact details direct with the landlords. Landlords use the site entirely free which means they can afford to offer lower rentals. The site is entirely private with no agents unlike the other classified websites in London which are full of agents. Since we charge so little we actually make very little profit but we are making the rentals market much more efficient by removing the middle man./ppIn the last 6 weeks and Live Simply have already had over 2000 members, if they all found a property through us saving at least £500 each we will have saved them over £2 million. So no wonder why the agents hate us, since as we grow, this figure will explode./ppa target=_new href=http://www.livesimply.co.ukhttp://www.livesimply.co.uk/a/pbrbr

titleOctober 23, 2007/titleWhile preparing for a presentation I am giving this week at the ULI Fall Meeting, I uncovered an interesting factoid from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. The job tenure for men between the ages of 45 and 54 is 9.6 years, versus an average tenure of 5.2 years for 35-to-44-year-olds. (Women in general showed a shorter tenure, and their retention habits will be treated in a future column.) That translates into a more than 50% longer tenure for the Âmore mature professional population. On one hand, this was not terribly surprising because one would expect that by the time men are 45-ish, their careers are beginning to reach a plateau and moves are less necessary or attractive. However, the shorter tenure for the 35-to-44-year-old highlights an issue on which employers are increasingly focused: retention.brbrbrbr

titleTurkey-day travelers/titleThanksgiving always is one of the years busiest travel times. But not everybody is heading home to Mom. Some folks go skiing, some head to Orlando or Las Vegas, others cram the streets of New York and Chicago to watch parades. And some far-flung families gather at a hotel instead of grandmas house. We literally have generations of families that come for Thanksgiving. Its our busiest weekend of the year, said Clark Albright, marketing director at Camelback Inn in Scottsdale, Ariz., where guests get a whole bird carved at their table rather than going through a buffet. In Massachusetts, more than 70,000 people visit Plimoth Plantation each November to learn about life among colonial settlers and the native Wampanoags — more commonly known as Pilgrims and Indians. Costumed interpreters pluck real turkeys and chat about a harvest celebration that occurred in 1621.Plimoth also has a variety of Thanksgiving celebrations, including a Victorian-style dinner at which President Lincolns 1863 proclamation declaring Thanksgiving to be a national holiday is read aloud.brbrbrbr

titleCross still giving her time and talent to athletes/titleFredna Cross has seen a lot in her lifetime. As an avid rabbit hunter, she has been in on her share of big kills. As an athletic director, she has overseen some of the best teams junior college sports has to offer. As a softball coach, she has led a team to a National Championship. But to her, nothing equals what she experiences during Special Olympics. People ask me why I keep doing this and I tell them real quick that its for the athletes, the 75-year-old Cross said. If you could just see them one time, then you would know. It gives them a chance to succeed and to get out and compete. Cross was in on Special Olympics from the very beginning, traveling to Hattiesburg for a meeting in 1967. She served as Area 5 Director #8212; which covers Lauderdale, Newton, Clarke and Kemper counties #8212; for 20 years, and very well may help run the area track and field meet until she breathes her last breath.brbrbrbr
